Yemen's Houthi rebels attacked two US destroyers in the Red Sea, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sare'e said.

“The Yemeni armed forces carried out an operation in which they attacked two US destroyers in the Red Sea,” Saree said, according to the Al Masirah TV channel, quoted by the Russian Tass agency.

"There is no excuse for Israel to block humanitarian aid to Gaza. It will be very dangerous if there is no truce in Gaza by Ramadan."

Joe Biden said this to the journalists following him at Camp David.

A high-level Egyptian source told state TV al Qahera that "negotiations continue in Cairo to reach a truce in the Gaza Strip and a new round between the parties will be held tomorrow."

“We will not allow the path to negotiations to remain open indefinitely while organized aggression and famine against our people continues.”

A Hamas leader, Osama Hamdan, said this at a press conference in Beirut.

Ceasefire talks between Hamas and mediators have broken down in Cairo to no avail, with just days left to halt the fighting in time for the start of Ramadan.

The international media reported it, including the Guardian.

Bassem Naim, a senior Hamas official, said the Palestinian group presented its proposal for a ceasefire agreement to mediators during two days of talks and was waiting for a response from the Israelis, who did not participate in this round of negotiations.

A high-level Egyptian source told Egyptian state broadcaster Al Qahera that "

there are difficulties but talks on Gaza continue

Meanwhile, on the ground,

Israeli engineering units have destroyed in recent days in the north of the Gaza Strip what is believed to be ''the largest tunnel'' dug for military purposes by Hamas in that area.

According to the army spokesperson, that tunnel - discovered in December near the Erez crossing point at the entrance to Israel - was very extensive and had several branches.

Images distributed in the past by the army showed a car passing through it.

''It was a strategic tunnel,'' specified the military spokesperson, specifying however that it did not penetrate Israeli territory.

''Yihia and Muhammad Sinwar - he added, referring to the local Hamas leaders - dedicated the utmost attention to its planning and financing, which required huge sums that Hamas preferred to allocate for terrorist purposes rather than the needs of the civilian population ''.

With the destruction of that tunnel, the spokesperson concluded, one of the threats looming over the Israeli towns located north of the Strip has been removed.

Medical sources at the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City said 17 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Khan Yunis on the home of the Al-Faqawi family.

Wafa reports it.

A total of 97 people have died in the last 24 hours.

UN: 'Convincing information on sexual violence'.

Hamas denies it

A United Nations team says there is "compelling information" that Israeli hostages held in Gaza were subjected to sexual violence by Hamas, including rape and gang rape in the October 7 attacks.

The BBC reports it.

For the UN, there are reasons to suspect that the abuses are still ongoing.

Israel's Foreign Ministry said it welcomed the "final recognition that Hamas committed sexual crimes."

Hamas "rejects" and "deplores" the report published by the United Nations

on sexual violence committed during the October 7 attack in Israel, the Palestinian Islamist movement said in a statement.

The "allegations" of rape and sexual violence committed by Hamas members during the attack are "false" and "unfounded", and the UN report "does not cite any testimony from the victims", Hamas said.
