This morning (Tuesday) it was allowed to be published that Pantibin Maxwell, a 31-year-old foreign worker from India, was killed by an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon at Moshav Margaliot in the Galilee. Maxwell, who came to Israel about two months ago to work, left behind a wife who was seven months pregnant, a five- and two-year-old girl Brothers - one of whom works in Israel, and the other in the United Arab Emirates.

Minister of the Interior, Moshe Arbel, who participated today in the event of the Media Real Estate CEOs' Club, which is designed to provide solutions to the dire plight of workers in the construction industry, chose to begin his remarks with the unfortunate event that happened yesterday: First of all I want to mention Patnibin Maxwell, the 31-year-old Indian worker who was killed yesterday.

He came to Israel to work in agriculture after October 7, leaving behind a pregnant wife and three children.

You have to remember that this is a person with a name, a family and children, and not just a foreign worker.

I instructed the Population and Immigration Authority to enforce and not allow workers to work in evacuated areas.

If the areas are open to citizens, they are also open to foreign workers.

We cannot allow any more harm to human life."

In addition, the Minister of the Interior spoke today with the Indian ambassador, and said: "We would like to assure you that the Population and Immigration Authority is committed to the safety of all foreign workers employed in Israel at this time.

We will advance intensive measures to activate enforcement in order to ensure that employers with permits to employ foreign workers will obey the rules of the Home Front Command, in the hope that we will not know of any more deaths of this kind."

Eyal Siso, the head of the Population and Immigration Authority, also participated in the Media Real Estate event and spoke about the incident. According to him, "The incident that happened last night is another obstacle, we spoke at night with the Indian and Thai ambassadors and they are now afraid to send workers.

There are people behind this story, and if the states don't cooperate with us, no workers will come.

You have to work with them correctly, and you also have to remember that we are under international supervision for workers' rights, everyone is checking us and we must not do things recklessly."

The Israeli Embassy in India said this morning that "We are shocked and very saddened by the death of an Indian citizen and the injury of two other people in the heinous terrorist attack of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, which was aimed against farmers who worked in the plantation in Moshav Margaliot.

Our condolences and thoughts are with the families of the dead and wounded."

It was also said that "Israel's medical institutions are at the disposal of the wounded, and they are treated by our best medical staff.

Israel treats all its residents, Israelis or foreigners, who are injured or killed due to terrorism in the same way.

We will be there to support the families and offer them assistance.

Israel and India, which unfortunately have known many cases of killing civilians, stand united in the hope of a speedy recovery for the wounded and comfort for the bereaved family."
