From simple house dust to stubborn grease splashes, floor tiles have to withstand a lot.
Nevertheless, you can avoid using chemical cleaners when cleaning.
The tiled floor gets a lot of dust, dirt, etc. And although it is probably easier to clean than the carpet, it also needs regular attention to stay clean and attractive.
There are various floor and tile cleaners in the drugstore that can make all surfaces shine again, but they are usually not cheap and are not free from harmful fragrances and chemical additives.
It's good that there is a much more environmentally friendly alternative, because these home remedies, which you probably already have at home, will make your floor tiles sparkling clean again.
Clean tiles: You are guaranteed to already have this all-purpose product in your house
If the floor tiles are milder to normal, lukewarm water mixed with a dash of dishwashing detergent is usually sufficient.
Simple and economical, dishwashing liquid is the Swiss army knife of cleaning products.
There are probably few everyday messes that can't be cleaned up with a little regular dishwashing liquid.
And floor tiles are no exception - simply scrub the dirty tiles with lukewarm soapy water with a mop.
Home remedies for floor tiles: It turns sour
Acid is considered a true miracle cure in the fight against limescale deposits and light greasy dirt.
Whether vinegar (cleaner) or citric acid, the main thing is acidic!
Simply dilute one of the two with water and polish the dirty tiles using your preferred cleaning aid (from a kitchen sponge to a mop).
Vinegar also keeps the rest of the bathroom clean and dissolves stubborn limescale on fittings.
The combination of vinegar/citric acid and baking soda also forms a very effective duo.
The baking soda, which is contained in conventional baking powder, removes the most stubborn grease deposits with ease.
With the combination of acid and baking soda, you mix an all-purpose agent against limescale and grease deposits and conjure up your floor clean again in one step.

Cleaning floor tiles: Don’t forget the joints
Now that the tiles themselves are shiny again, the gaps in between should of course not be neglected.
Especially when using vinegar and lemon juice, the joints should be avoided, as they are often sensitive to acid.
But a clean tiled floor shouldn't fail because of the joints, which are by no means rocket science and can also be cleaned with home remedies.
