Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious) won the third stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico in the sprint, from Volterra to Gualdo Tadino over 225 kilometres, the longest of the race.

The German took advantage of the fall of JasperPhilipsen and other riders at the last left bend, beating the Italian Jonathan Milan (Lidl Trek) and Kevin Vauquelin (ArkeaB&B) and behind him four Italians: Alberto Bettiol (EFEducation-EasyPost), Andrea Vendrame ( Decathlon-Ag2r), SimoneVelasco (Astana Qazaqstan) and Damiano Caruso (BahrainVictorious), classified from fourth to seventh place.

The Spaniard Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) remains the leader of the race, eleventh at the finish line today.
