Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has been suspended for two matches by the Spanish Football Federation following the red card he received during the 2-2 draw in Valencia last Saturday.
The Madrid club, the current leader of La Liga, appealed against this sanction, believing that the referee had made an "error" in excluding the English player, but the appeal was rejected by the disciplinary commission.
In Valencia, Bellingham strongly challenged the referee's decision to disallow his injury-time header, which could have given Madrid a narrow victory.
In his report, Jesus Gil Manzano justified the exclusion, explaining that "after the end of the match, still on the pitch, (the player) ran towards me with an aggressive attitude and shouted at me".
The league's top scorer (16 goals) will therefore miss the next two league matches, Sunday against Celta Vigo and March 16 against Osasuna.
