An impressive scene took place off the Scottish coast: A red fox was surprised by the tide while hunting for birds and became stranded on a rock.

Will he jump into the deep end?

The coast around Longniddry in Scotland enchants with picturesque beaches and impressive flora.

It's also a great place for bird watching, attracting many ducks and wading birds.

As members of the Mull Wildlife Group observe a group of seagulls on the beach, they notice a single red fox stuck on a small rock.

Will he dare to jump into the ice-cold water?

The fox was probably hunting for birds when the rising tide surprised him and cut him off from the beach.

Nancy Somerville, 70, and her friends watched as the fox dipped its paws into the water and shrank from the freezing temperatures.

“He actually looked pretty healthy, apart from the fact that his cock was already pretty wet.”

But when the waves get higher and higher and the rock threatens to be flooded, he gathers all his courage and jumps into the water.

“It was an impressive sight.”

The wild animal had to swim around 300 meters to reach the safe shore.
