The president of the Football Federation Gabriele Gravina has been entered into the register of suspects and was questioned today by Rome prosecutors as part of the investigation into the alleged offences.
The preliminary investigation lasted about an hour.
"Due to the intolerable exploitations and distorting reconstructions of the truth of the facts that have called him into question in recent days, despite not being under investigation, this morning Gabriele Gravina asked to be heard to clarify his position and the circumstances of which he was victim. The hearing took place this afternoon at the offices of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome".
This was announced by a note from the lawyers of the president of the Football Federation Leo Mercurio and Fabio Viglione.
The decision to appear before the magistrates, add the lawyers of the president of the Football Federation, "was made in order to protect his image and by virtue of the full trust he places in the magistrates who are following the case".
In this matter, conclude Mercurio and Viglione, "our client is an offended person, for this reason we hope that light will be shed as soon as possible on what is emerging as a real dossier activity, with respect to which we also hope for the identification of the principals".
