A German man who deliberately vaccinated himself against Covid-19 217 times without reporting any side effects due to the numerous administrations is, according to researchers, the "most vaccinated person in history".

The immune system of the 62-year-old man from the central German city of Magdeburg is still working at full capacity, researchers said in the journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases.

The man - whose name was not reported - voluntarily underwent the numerous injections against all medical advice, while experts warn against drawing any long-term conclusions from this single case.

The man first caught researchers' attention after reports in 2022, when he had received just 90 vaccinations.

According to media reports at the time, the man was suspected of having received so many doses to collect vaccination certificates which could then be forged and sold to people who did not want to be vaccinated.

According to the scientific paper published earlier this week, the Magdeburg public prosecutor opened an investigation into fraud allegations in the case, but no criminal charges were filed.

The case offered researchers the very rare opportunity to study so-called "hypervaccination".

Some scientists have theorized that after so many vaccinations, a body's immune cells would become less effective as they become accustomed to the antigens.

But this was not the case for the German: according to the researchers, the man had "considerably higher concentrations" of immune cells and antibodies against the Covid virus than a control group of three people who had received the three recommended vaccinations, he says I study.

What's more, his body showed no signs of fatigue from all those shots: his 217th vaccine shot still increased his number of antibodies against Covid, the researchers found.

The man reported that he had never had any side effects from any of the vaccines.

Furthermore, he never tested positive for Covid and showed no signs of previous infection, the researchers said.
