He mortally wounded his father, because the illness he was afflicted with had made him unmanageable, aggressive and even violent towards his mother.
For this reason, a 46-year-old man, Raffaele Sergi, was sentenced in Turin to 12 years in prison.
The accused explained that he had acted in a moment of "mental blackout" and the Court of Assizes, in addition to applying the generic mitigating circumstances to the maximum extent, recognized his state of semi-infirmity at the time of the crime.
Sergi had hit his father, Enrico, 71, with a hammer on 29 April 2023;
the man died the following July 2nd.
