The United States has revised the text of the draft UN Security Council resolution to support "an immediate ceasefire of approximately six weeks in Gaza together with the release of all hostages": international media reported.
The initial US draft showed support for a 'temporary ceasefire' in the war between Israel and Hamas.
Washington has vetoed three draft resolutions so far, two of which would have called for an immediate ceasefire.
The US has said it intends to allow time for negotiations on its draft and will not rush to a vote.
