In the absence of the king, she is the one in charge, and this time, it is historic.
Charles III continues his royal duties despite the treatment he has been following for cancer since February.
But we know in advance that the sovereign will not be able to fulfill certain commitments.
This is the case for the royal service on Maundy Thursday, which will take place at Worcester Cathedral on March 28.
It is therefore his wife, Camilla, who will replace him.
If this is not the first time that the queen has hosted an event in place of her husband, this replacement is more special than the others.

A centuries-old tradition
Every year, a royal mass takes place on Holy Thursday which precedes Easter Sunday.
Since 1213, the tradition has been for the British monarch to distribute coins to the population present, often local retirees.
A way of imitating the belief according to which Jesus washed the feet of the apostles before the Last Supper.
For centuries, this tradition has been ensured by the monarch himself.
But with the planned absence of Charles III and his replacement by Queen Camilla, for the first time in history, it is therefore a consort who will be in charge.
Because even if the term “consort” was removed from Queen Camilla’s royal title, she remains so through her marriage to the sovereign.
Thursday March 28, at Worcester Cathedral, Camilla will distribute 75 pieces to the British who will be present.
Tradition dictates that the number of coins distributed corresponds to the age of the monarch, i.e. 75 years for Charles III.
Worcester Cathedral also welcomed the visit of the British Queen by confirming the event on its social networks.
The announcement of this event comes shortly after the tabloid
The Sun
revealed that Camilla was "exhausted" by her recent official outings.
The queen would therefore have decided to treat herself to a few days of “sunny, foreign” vacation after having ensured 13 royal engagements since the announcement of her husband's cancer.
