Starting at midnight this Thursday, several bus lines will make a
surprise stoppage
and will not provide service
in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA).
The forceful measure was decided by the drivers who did not receive the salary increase and the non-remunerative bonus that they had agreed with the companies.
At the moment, it affects 11 lines that circulate in the metropolitan area.
The first to announce the strike were the delegates of the company MOQSA, which provides service in the South Zone.
Thus,
lines 159, 219, 300, 372, 584 and 619
will not circulate from midnight this Wednesday, as long as salaries are not credited.
Later,
line 148
, belonging to the company El Nuevo Halcón, was added, also due to late payment of salaries.
In addition,
lines 194, 228, 63 and 338
will not circulate either .
On February 20, the companies had to pay a bonus of $140,000 to the drivers of the Automotive Tram Union (UTA), but due to a clause in the joint agreement, that bonus was rescheduled to be paid together with the February salary.
The deadline was this Wednesday, the fourth business day of the month.
Not receiving salaries or bonuses, the drivers decided to go on strike.
