The Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich decided to allocate a million-dollar subsidy to Volunteer Firefighters throughout the country for
11,679 million pesos
.
She did so through a resolution published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette.
The money will be distributed among 1,050 entities, so each one will receive about
11 million pesos
that they must allocate to the purchase of equipment, operating expenses and training.
“Given the
large-scale disasters that have occurred in different provinces during the last year and planned for the present
, it may be necessary to provide the most affected firefighting entities with equipment that allows them to adequately cover emergencies specific to their jurisdiction, provincial territory and/or or interprovincial in which they provide services,” states the text of resolution 94/2024 of the Ministry of Security.
The 1,050 volunteer firefighter organizations will receive a total of 11,679 million pesos (11,679,023,338, 50 pesos).
On average, each one will receive more than 11 million pesos, although the amount varies according to the entity.
The benefit, according to the resolution published in the Official Gazette, is against the presentation of proof of the investment made by the organizations "oriented for the purposes for which they have been assigned."
The Federal Articulation Secretariat, through the Directorate of Volunteer Firefighters, is in charge of verification.
“The volunteer firefighting entities that are beneficiaries of the subsidy granted by National Law No. 25,054 must
identify all real estate or mobile property acquired by said subsidy
, with the following legend: 'National Subsidy Law 25,054.
Ministry of Security - Presidency of the Nation'”, was detailed in the argument of the resolution.
According to the resolution, priority is given to transfers from institutions that have proven compliance with their obligations “in a timely manner,” while transfers will begin in provinces with “fewer entities.”
