It's a concept that tends to develop on streaming platforms: adapting a popular film into a series.
Which generally implies rethinking a large part of the initial story while remaining faithful to the spirit of the original, which was the case very recently with “Mr & Mrs Smith” (adapted from the 2005 feature film with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) on Prime Video.
This Thursday, Netflix is doing it with “The Gentlemen”.
With a brilliant idea: it is Guy Ritchie, director of the excellent original film, released just before the first confinement in February 2020, who himself adapts his scenario for a series of eight episodes.
Result: we really enjoyed the film, we love the series.
