"Openness" on the part of Trenitalia on the need to introduce as soon as possible a new regulation for objects transported with the traveler which can "best satisfy" the different transport needs, "allowing passengers to travel in maximum safety and on the same track with soft mobility".
This was stated by Assoutenti and Fiab, the Italian Environment and Bicycle Federation, after the meeting with the company to address the issue of the new regulation on luggage and the transport of bicycles and scooters on arrows.
The salient points, explain the two associations, concern:
FOLDING BICYCLES AND SCOOTERS Trenitalia will appoint a primary university institute for the purpose of an additional analysis of the risk of transport on board the accompanying bikes and scooters and to identify the most suitable and prescriptive solutions, in addition to the measures permitted on board the train for these vehicles (no "bikemonstre").
Pending these provisions, the traveler who does not find space in the baggage space of his carriage is allowed to use baggage spaces in other carriages, the space between the seats etc., in agreement with the train conductor.
LUGGAGE The new sizes of luggage transported will be the same for first and second class and each passenger will be able to travel with 2 pieces of luggage plus bag, backpack, personal effects and any stroller.
FOR ANY OBJECT TRANSPORTED The passenger will be informed before purchasing the ticket about the new rules for carrying luggage.
Travelers who do not comply with the new provisions will be fined significantly less than the 50 euros envisaged in the first hypothesis of the new regulation.
