A few days ago, Elliott
(first name has been changed)
, a student at the René-Perrin high school in Ugine (Savoie), started a Technological Innovation and Eco-Design (ITEC) course.
A new subject for this final year student STI2D (Science and technology of industry and sustainable development).
The discovery of “IT” as it is nicknamed was not ideal, with a teacher not really delighted to see four new students arrive and computers in poor condition which took thirty minutes to turn on.
But what greatly worries Elliott and his parents is the technological baccalaureate which is coming up in three short months.
Elliott, even with a 13 general average, does not really feel equipped to face this exam.
And for good reason.
On February 1, the high school asked him, along with eight other students, to change their major.
This is the main subject that high school students must study during the baccalaureate.
Since last year, Elliott and his eight classmates have chosen the specific SIN (Information and Digital Systems) course which they study for eight hours a week.
A specialty which accounts for 30% of the overall baccalaureate grade.
