The jury's decision has been made: from 486 book titles submitted, they selected 15 works in the categories of fiction, non-fiction/essay and translation.

Between March 21st and 24th everything in Leipzig will once again revolve around books.

The Leipzig Book Fair opens its doors.

There is a lot to offer the reading public and there are some innovations on the program.

The Leipzig Book Fair Prize is being awarded for the 20th time this year.

The jury selected 15 titles from almost 500 book titles submitted.

Included for the very first time: the graphic novel “Comrade Cuckoo”, which has a good chance of winning the award.

The nominated authors and translators are now hoping for the award until the 20th award ceremony of the Leipzig Book Fair takes place in the glass hall on the exhibition grounds on March 21st at 4 p.m.

Insa Wilke, chairwoman of the jury, noted that in all three categories there was an increased engagement with questions of political and historical consciousness.

While this is not surprising, it is remarkable how these topics are addressed in sometimes very subtle forms, material and access, which is also encouraging for readers, the press release says.

In the fiction category, Dinçer Güçyeter won the Leipzig Book Fair prize last year.
