The Lufthansa group closes 2023 with revenues up 15% to 35.4 billion euros, a net profit more than doubled to 1.7 billion (+112%) and an operating result, adjusted EBIT, up to 2. 7 billion from 1.5 billion.
Passengers transported last year were 123 million (+20%).
This is the "third best financial result ever in the history of Lufthansa", underlines the German group, which offers shareholders a dividend of 0.30 euros per share.
“Lufthansa expects the green light to acquire a stake in Ita Airways from the EU later this year,” the company then announced.
"We are making progress on the acquisition of Ita Airways - added CEO Carsten Spohr - albeit more slowly than expected".
