It's the end of the winter holidays for zone B, which brings together the academies of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen and Strasbourg .
Zones A and C had already returned to school in the previous weeks, but this last weekend back from the school holidays promises to be busy on the roads.
“This weekend will also be marked by the end of the Carnival holidays in Belgium.
Thus, traffic will be heavy between the northern borders and the winter sports resorts of the Alps,” underlines Bison futé in its forecasts.
The South-West and the North-East quarter concerned
Until then classified green during previous weekends, the south-western quarter of France is on orange alert for the day of
Friday
in the direction of returns.
This concerns the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, as well as the former Midi-Pyrénées region.
In the direction of departures, all motorists can rest assured, Bison futé sees green across the whole of France.

Saturday will, however, cause more difficulties on the roads, since no less
than
three regions are classified red: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in the direction of departures and returns, but also the Grand Est and Bourgogne-Franche -County, only in the direction of returns.
“The return of ski resorts to the rest of the country and neighboring countries should generate significant difficulties on the main Alpine routes, in the Rhône Valley and on those serving the eastern border regions,” insists Bison futé.
However, no disruption is expected for this Sunday, whether you are traveling in the direction of departures or returns.
Roads to avoid according to Bison futé
To prevent the end of the holidays from turning into long hours of traffic jams, here are some roads where the traffic will be heaviest and which you are recommended to avoid.
This Friday traffic will be particularly busy in the direction of returns on the
A62
between Agen and Bordeaux from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., but also on the
N124
between Toulouse and Auch from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
If, on the other hand, you take the road this Saturday in the direction of departures, the difficulties will be concentrated around the Alpine areas.
So be sure to avoid the
A40
between Mâcon and Annemasse from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the
A43
between Lyon and Modane from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the
N85
between Grenoble and Gap from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In the direction of returns, be careful on the
A71
, which is not recommended between Bourges and Orléans from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and near Clermont-Ferrand from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Four other routes should be bypassed or taken at other times if you can: the
A26
between Troyes and Châlons-en-Champagne from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the
A39
between Bourg-en-Bresse and Dijon from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the
A43
between Modane and Lyon from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and finally the
N85
between Gap and Grenoble from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
