Cleaning products for every surface are available in drugstores.
You only need a handful of cleaning products to clean every corner of the apartment.
Anyone who turns into the household goods department of the supermarket or drugstore is literally overwhelmed by the seemingly endless selection of cleaning products.
This also includes expensive special cleaners or disinfectants, which often contain a lot of chemicals and preservatives.
This is not only bad for the environment, but can also affect your health.
According to information from the
Federal Environment Agency
, disinfectants are often said to promote allergies if they are used regularly in the household.
They are not even necessary to keep the apartment clean and hygienic.
According to the
consumer advice center
, four cleaners are enough to clean your home, which we will introduce to you below.
1. Neutral all-purpose cleaner or neutral cleaner
A neutral all-purpose cleaner is used on all surfaces that require gentle cleaning.
These include kitchen worktops, tiles, bathroom furniture and floors of all kinds. Windows and window frames made of plastic can also be cleaned with neutral cleaner - a dash into the water is enough.

2. Scouring powder or scratch pad
Scouring powder or scouring milk tackles stubborn grease and limescale stains in the kitchen and bathroom.
The cleaning agent especially gives stainless steel stovetops and sinks a new shine.
The cleaning agent contains granules that mechanically remove incrustations.
Therefore it should only be used on insensitive surfaces.
Alternatively, a scratch sponge, for example made of stainless steel, can also remove stubborn dirt.

3. Vinegar cleaner or citric acid
Vinegar cleaner has proven particularly useful for cleaning the bathroom.
It removes light limescale residues as well as typical dirt and soap residues in the shower, sink or bathtub.

For more stubborn limescale deposits, it is better to use citric acid, alternatively vinegar or the stronger vinegar essence.
These tried and tested home remedies dissolve limescale effortlessly and also remove other stubborn dirt.
Citric acid can be used in the following areas:
Citric acid cleans dishwashers and washing machines effectively and prevents unpleasant odors from occurring
Removes limescale in toilets and cisterns and dissolves urine scale
for descaling taps and shower heads, kettles and coffee machines
Dissolves deposits in coffee and teapots, cups and toothbrush cups
Removes sweat and deodorant stains from clothing
By the way, shower heads can also be cleaned wonderfully with dishwasher tablets - quickly and easily.
4. Dishwashing liquid
Dishwashing liquid not only makes dishes and glasses shine again, but can also be used as an all-purpose cleaner in the household.
It dissolves oils, grease and other dirt in no time, be it household appliances, work surfaces or dirty glasses.
But windows can also be cleaned streak-free again with a little detergent.
If you value particularly environmentally friendly means for cleaning your home, it is best to use natural home remedies such as vinegar, citric acid, baking soda, washing soda or salt.
