The CGT continues to toughen its tone as the Olympic Games approach.
The general secretary of the union Sophie Binet confirmed this Thursday morning that strike notices would be filed in the three public functions (State, local authorities and hospitals) to cover the entire period concerned by the Paris Olympics (July 26 to August 11) .
“We want the government to take measures immediately to ensure the success of the Games, for which the CGT has been working for years,” Sophie Binet told franceinfo.
This Sunday, the CGT sent a “red card” to the executive on its social preparation for the Olympics, requesting a meeting with the Prime Minister on “the social challenge”.
The unions are demanding in particular a bonus of 1,900 euros for people mobilized during the Olympics, like what was announced by the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin for the police.
Negotiations are also underway around postponed leave and overtime worked during the summer.
