SERIES.
You, me and after?
“You & Me”, at 8:55 p.m., on Arte.
“You & Me” starts like a romantic comedy with the hero's voice-over announcing a tragedy.
However, the meeting between Ben and Jess has everything to put a smile on your face.
The more we feel that tragedy is approaching, the more we become attached to these two who fell for each other at a bus stop.
The suspense is skillfully distilled throughout the first of the six episodes and you have to wait until the end of the second to imagine where this fiction will lead.
The writing and production skillfully navigate several years to deliver a delicate story full of tenderness while exploring the crazy cruelty that fate can sometimes have.
It's impossible not to think, if you've seen it, of the series "Un Jour", recently released on Netflix, often similar in tone even if the story is very different.
The question of happiness is central here, when a tragedy seems insurmountable, when it seems impossible to imagine any future.
