Consumers beware: Several smoothie products are affected by a current recall.
They are on sale in several discount stores.

The fact that Oetker had to recall a popular smoothie product now shows that consumers who have bought other brands should now also take a closer look.
Some smoothies that were sold at Lidl and Netto (with dogs) are now also affected by a recall.
The trigger for the product recall is the same: a mold toxin (Patulin) was detected.

Recall of popular smoothie: Netto customers should pay attention to this now
The European discounter Netto, represented in Germany by Netto ApS & Co. KG, is also informing about a recall.
The discounter can be visually distinguished from the better-known German Netto Marken-Discount by the dog in the logo.
The discounter ’s
“Kingsway Smoothie Banana-Grape-Cranberry – Pomegranate-Acai and other fruits”
could also contain the mold toxin.

Oetker concerned: Patulin can cause these symptoms
According to the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety, patulin is considered a neurotoxin.
The following symptoms are possible:
Vomit
Digestive disorders (inflammation of the stomach lining including bleeding)
In some cases, bleeding into the kidney, spleen or liver
Customers of discounters can return affected items to the respective branches.
For example, Lidl is taking back smoothies affected by the recall in all Lidl branches.
The purchase price will therefore be refunded even without presentation of the receipt.
At the end of 2023, a True Fruits brand smoothie was recalled.
The background here was incorrect product labeling.
