- Quality, convenience and sustainability characterize the products recommended by La Borsa della Spesa, the service created by Bmti (Telematic Goods Exchange) and Italmercati, in collaboration with Consumerismo No Profit. Among fruit, blood oranges are still at the top of the ranking with prices still low, 0.80 euro/Kg.

with an abundance of small-sized, good quality product, to be used for excellent vitamin C juices. Wide availability in strawberry markets.

The high temperatures are favoring the ripening and quality of the product, especially for the Sabrosa variety from Basilicata.

As regards prices, this week, the Campania strawberry ranges from 3.00 to 3.50 euros/kg, the Candonga strawberry is around 4.50 euros/kg and the Matera strawberry, which this year presents a quality excellent, ranging from 5.00 to 5.50 euros/kg.

Vegetables are also benefiting from the high temperatures.

The abundance of production and the low level of demand for these products confirm the low prices.

Specifically, fennel, whose production is particularly abundant in the regions of southern Italy, ranges from 0.80 to 1.20 euro/kg, while beets are confirmed at around 0.70 euro/kg.

The only product that is suffering from the heat these days is the artichoke since there has been no rain in the areas of greatest production.

The still low level of demand, however, is limiting prices which range from 0.35 euros per piece for the purple artichoke to 0.70 euros per piece for the Romanesco.

While the green asparagus campaign has begun, especially those from Campania.

There is still a low level of demand which, compared to last week, has led to a drop in prices which are around 5.50 euros/kg.

On the fish front, this week too, fishing activities were limited by the bad weather, which hit the peninsula, and by the rough seas.

In fact, fishing activities were carried out mainly on the Adriatic side.

For this reason, La Borsa della Spesa recommends the consumption of: lupins, with prices ranging from 3.00 to 6.00 euros/kg depending on the size, shaved, from the sardine family, around 2.00 euros/kg, blue whiting, a poor fish with excellent organoleptic properties, similar to hake, ranging from 1.50 to 2.00 euros/kg.

The low price is determined by a very low demand for these species which are still little known to consumers.

Great availability of prawns in the markets, thanks to which prices are decreasing, around 20.00 euros/kg.

The blue crab is also highly recommended, with prices ranging from 2 to 3.00 euros/kg.

Greater consumption of this product would help preserve the marine ecosystem in which it is found and limit the damage caused by it.
