Public television ORF had to apologize after the still strong indignation on Friday from fishermen, who saw it frying a local species of fish protected in a national park in the middle of a cooking show.
The animal was cooked live by a guest restaurateur to host the program, which is very popular locally.
Alerted by spectators aware of the legislation, public television apologized live a few days later.

“I am terribly bothered by what happened,” explained Friday this chef of a restaurant in the region of Lower Austria (East), who had “asked a friend to get him some fish” at the last minute in order to to prepare his recipe in front of the cameras last week.
