Victory and first place in the standings for Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease A Bike) in the fifth stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico, the 144 kilometer Torricella Sicura-Valle Castellana.
The Dane attacked five kilometers from the Colle San Giacomo summit, immediately clearing the gap behind him and then covered the remaining 28 kilometers to the finish line, increasing his gap to over a minute over his closest pursuers, Juan Ayuso and Jay Hindley.
In tomorrow's stage - the 180 km Sassoferrato-Cagli, with an uphill finish at Monte Petrano - the hardest of the race, Vingegaard will be able to manage his advantage, which is almost a minute over the Colombian Ayuso.
