Everything is ready in Rome for the national demonstration called for tomorrow by the Italian Peace and Disarmament Network and the AssisiPaceGiusta Coalition to ask for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to "reaffirm the right to demonstrate freely, democratically and peacefully as the Italian Constitution recalls".
There are many associations and movements that have given their membership, from Arci to Anpi, from Greenpeace to the International Women's House.
The procession will parade along the streets of the capital starting at 12.45pm from Piazza della Repubblica until reaching the ForiImperali at 5.30pm.
"What is happening in the Middle East in recent months - explain the organizers - is the result of years of injustice, abuse, violations of human rights and political responsibilities of the international community, which have fueled a spiral of hatred and violence in both communities to which It must be put to an end immediately, to restore dignity, equal rights, freedom and democracy and build the foundations of mutual respect and coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis."
