The UN Security Council has approved a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Sudan during Ramadan which begins next week.
The document "calls on all parties to an immediate cessation of hostilities before the month of Ramadan", and to allow "full, rapid, safe and unhindered humanitarian access, including across borders and across the front lines".
The text obtained 14 votes in favor and one abstention, Russia.
