Senior Biden administration officials have accused Hamas of thwarting a 6-week ceasefire agreement with Israel by refusing to release the sick, elderly and women hostages it is holding captive in Gaza.
The Times of Israel reports it.
"Today there could be a six-week ceasefire if Hamas agrees to release vulnerable hostages, including women, the elderly, the sick and the wounded," an official close to the matter said, requesting anonymity.
"The liberation of sick people, elderly people and women: this is the obstacle that stands in the way at the moment", added another official.
