In the fourth quarter of 2023, GDP remained stable (0%) in the Eurozone and in the EU as a whole, recording zero growth compared to the previous quarter.
This was communicated by Eurostat, confirming the stagnation that had already emerged in the first flash estimate in January.
In the third quarter of 2023, GDP fell by 0.1% in the euro area and remained stable in the twenty-seven.
For the whole of 2023, growth was 0.4% in both the Eurozone and the EU, after the +3.4% recorded in both areas in 2022. On the employment front, employment increased in the fourth quarter of 2023 0.3% in the Eurozone and 0.2% in the EU.
