The former Duchess of Sussex was previously revealed to have been the target of racism in the country, such as during the famous Oprah Winfrey microphone interview.
Thus, the hate messages would have increased each time during her two pregnancies (in 2019 and 2021);
many royal fans do not wish to have a mixed-race child as a descendant.
“For my well-being, I now keep my distance from social media,” she said.
Experiencing motherhood
The mother of Archie and Lilibet gave this speech in front of her husband, seated in the front row.
With great emotion, she explained, at least in part, the reasons for her departure for California, the place where her daughter Lilibet was born, unlike Archie, their first son.
Fleeing the country to “preserve her mental health” during her motherhood was essential for her.
Because when the latter discovered cyberharassment on this scale, a question came to her mind: “Why would people be so hateful?
It's not mean, it's cruel.
Why do that?".
And to continue: “When we are pregnant or a new mother, we know how tender and sacred this moment is.”
So, being a victim of cyberbullying was, according to her, the worst thing ever.
“You can really succumb to it.
Succumb to the pain that it represents,” she concluded.
