The Italian delegation to the Oscars is finally complete in Los Angeles

.

And it's an unusually large group.

On March 10th Matteo Garrone

, who with

Io Capitano

is running for the statuette for best international film, will take his seat inside the Dolby Theater together with eleven other people.

Alongside him there will be the protagonist actors Seydou Sarr and Moustapha Fall, together with Mamadou Kouassi, the cultural mediator who now lives in Caserta and who inspired the film with his experience.

The three young people did not separate from their director throughout the Hollywood campaign, which began with the screening at the end of October at the prestigious Afi festival, sponsored by the Consulate and the Italian Institute of Los Angeles, and ended when the last round closed of votes from members of the Academy of Motion Pictures on February 27.

In between, dozens and dozens of screenings with a final debate in which the 'fantastic four' of Io Capitano participated with generous and constant dedication.

On Thursday evening, friends, family and producers who arrived in force to support Io Capitano met for dinner in an Italian restaurant: "We wanted to thank you all - said Garrone, at the time of the toast -. Sunday, as it goes, will go. We are happy of having lived this experience all together. Over the course of these months, we have become more than colleagues or collaborators. We are a family."

"We are all here together: people who come from Africa, from America, from Europe. just like to make this film. This is how we want the world, the future", commented Kouassi.

Guendalina Folador, from Archimede Film, Garrone's production company, manages appointments, travel, public interventions and interviews.

On March 10th she too will walk the most famous red carpet in cinema.

Then there will be Paolo del Brocco from Rai Cinema, who has moved back and forth between Rome, Berlin and Los Angeles in recent months, and the French co-producer Ardavan Safaee from Pathé.

Two seats are reserved for the undersecretary of Culture, Lucia Borgonzoni, and the president of Cinecittà, Chiara Sbarigia, who have just arrived from Rome.
