A large area of bad weather present in France is approaching Italy and from next night will cause a worsening of weather conditions with widespread and abundant precipitation in the northern regions and Tuscany.
Strong winds are also expected to affect all Italian regions.
This was announced by the Civil Protection.
The warning of adverse weather conditions predicts from the evening of today, Saturday 9 March, strong to gale-force winds - with gusts of strong gale - from the southern quadrants of Sicily extending to Calabria, Basilicata, Puglia, Campania, Lazio, Molise, Abruzzo, Umbria, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The most intense reinforcements will occur on coastal, storm surge and mountainous sectors.
From this evening snowfalls above a thousand meters are expected in Valle D'Aosta and Piedmont.
From the early hours of tomorrow, scattered to widespread rainfall - including downpours or thunderstorms - will affect Valle D'Aosta, Piedmont and Liguria, but will also affect Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Veneto, the Autonomous Province of Trento and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, possible hailstorms and strong gusts.
In light of this, the Civil Protection underlines, an orange alert has been issued for tomorrow in parts of Liguria, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto;
also assessed as yellow alert over the entire territory of Piedmont, Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Molise, the remaining part of Liguria and sectors of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
