An unexpected downpour on the Lusail circuit has complicated MotoGP plans in view of next Sunday's Qatar GP, prompting the riders to postpone pre-qualifying tomorrow and instead carry out a normal free practice session in the evening.
The fastest on the wet asphalt was Marc Marquez, riding the Gresini team's Ducati.
With a time of 2'06''544 he preceded the Ktm GasGas of Augusto Fernandez and Pedro Acosta.
Prudent Francesco Bagnaia, who set the 12th time, while his teammate Enea Bastianini achieved seventh.
Only 18th for Jorge Martin, who had been the fastest in the previous session.
