Highlights: Mystery about abandoned Hermes transporter in the middle of the forest – parcel service providers are also in the dark. This is definitely not the norm, says a spokeswoman of Hermes. The car was likely a discarded car from a (possibly former) service partner. The vehicle is dirty, possibly covered in a layer of green moss. Nevertheless, the Hermes lettering on the van can still be seen on several sides of the car. “It seems to have adapted to the landscape,” said another user. ‘I've been missing one for about eight years,’ said one user.

A discarded van with Hermes lettering is causing a stir.

The parcel service responds and explains what was apparently missed here.

Munich – It's often not easy as a parcel delivery person.

Daily work is usually associated with great time pressure.

And the senders or recipients of the packages do not always agree with the service.

A Hermes customer was recently annoyed by the courier's questionable storage location for a "totally valuable package".

On the other hand, another customer of the parcel service provider was full of praise - because of the exemplary note from the Hermes delivery person.

Abandoned Hermes transporter appeared in the middle of the forest

If a delivery doesn't go smoothly, the company usually feels the effects.

If a package arrives late or doesn't arrive at all or is not handed over in person, DHL, Hermes, DPD and Co. are often publicly taken to task.

A parcel delivery person recently gave tips on what consumers can do to ensure that parcels are delivered better.

A current case involving a van with Hermes lettering is not about a botched package delivery.

But as the saying goes: “Whoever has the damage doesn’t have to worry about the ridicule.”

A Facebook user posted a photo on March 3 showing a Hermes van.

According to his user information, the picture could have been taken in the Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein area.

However, this information cannot be verified.

It also remained unclear whether the photo was taken recently or is older.

The first look at the snapshot shows: The vehicle is apparently in the middle of the forest and doesn't exactly look as if it is still in use.

It is dirty, possibly covered in a layer of green moss.

The license plate was unscrewed.

Nevertheless, the Hermes lettering on the van can still be seen on several sides of the car.

This Facebook post from a user caused a lot of guesswork: Why is this Hermes transporter in the middle of the forest?

“Has adapted well to the landscape” – Hermes transporter discovered in forest

“In case anyone is still waiting for a package,” the creator of the Facebook post wrote on his post – complete with a winking emoji.

Numerous users appreciated this joke.

And hit the same note.

“He’s still looking for the address,” commented one user.

“It’s still taking a while with the packages,” joked another.

“Oh, that’s why I didn’t get my package three years ago – the driver is taking a break,” speculated another user ironically.

“I've been missing one for about eight years,” said one user.

However, it was not possible to say for sure whether she was serious or whether this statement was made in jest.

“Got pretty green.

“It seems to have adapted to the landscape,” said another user.

“Hermes doesn’t need a car.

Hermes is the messenger of the gods.

He has wings and can deliver packages on the fly,” was a humorous interpretation of the photo.

Another user took a slightly more serious tone: “You kind of laugh at something like that.

But our MAN location had a disused Italian moving truck in the yard for four years with everything still on it.

As far as I know, people never got their stuff.”

Discarded Hermes transporter in Waldstück: Parcel service provider reacts and gives details

It is unclear whether this was also the case in the case of the Hermes transporter.

However, when asked by

IPPEN.MEDIA

, a Hermes spokeswoman confirmed that the parcel service provider wanted to examine the matter.

“The vehicle is most likely a discarded car from a (possibly former) service partner.”

The spokeswoman could not say why the van was still covered with Hermes logos.

But this is definitely not the norm.

“In the interests of both parties, logos or the like are usually removed from decommissioned vehicles.

Even after the collaboration with a service partner has ended, the rapid neutralization of the vehicles is a logical step," she described to

IPPEN.MEDIA

: "In individual cases, as you can see, this can sometimes slip through." Under certain circumstances, a (former) Hermes service partner failed to take this step.

Meanwhile, Hermes isn't the only one struggling with problems from time to time.

Even with the competition there are always inconsistencies.

A DHL customer was recently angry after opening his package.

In contrast, a DHL customer raved about “the best delivery company in the area”.
