There were less than 6 seconds left in the game in which D'Angelo Russell scored the basket in the Lakers' victory over the Milwaukee Bucks 123-122.

With the Californian quintet without LeBron James, with a sore ankle, and with Anthony Davis weakened by a shoulder injury in the second part of the match, an irrepressible Russell took care of it.

He scored a season-high 44 points, including 21 in the final quarter alone and eight in the final 73 seconds.

Giannis Antetokounmpo signed a new triple double, with 34 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, for the Bucks who seemed to be heading straight towards victory, with a six-point lead less than two minutes before the siren.

Until Russell broke loose.

After six consecutive victories, Milwaukee suffered their second knockout in a row and now second place in the Eastern Conference hangs by a thread.

Darius Garland (34 points, 8 assists) and Jarrett Allen (33 points, 18 rebounds) were the spearheads in the Cleveland Cavaliers' victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime.

Allen was the man in overtime: he scored 10 of his 33 points, also taking advantage of Rudy Gobert's exclusion for his sixth personal foul, with 27 seconds left in regulation time.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, one of the NBA's best scorers, scored 37 points, including 23 in the second half, leading the Thunder to victory against Miami (107-100).

Everything was decided in the third quarter for the Oklahoma franchise, which inflicted a 17-0 blow on the Heat to take the lead and never let it come back.

The New Orleans Pelicans beat the 76ers in Philadelphia (103-95), without Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, climbing back to fifth place in the Western Conference.

Louisiana forward Zion Williamson scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Pelicans also led by 35 points before letting the 76ers pull within five points with less than a minute left.
