Don’t risk talking to them about “pain au chocolat”!
Bakers from all over the world have been meeting since Friday March 8 in Toulouse, where the second edition of the World Cup of Chocolate and Pain au Chocolat is being organized until Sunday.
The public will be able to come freely all weekend to observe the work of the artisan bakers who will be hard at work.
Several trophies will reward the best creations, after examination by a meticulous jury and five years after a successful first edition.
In the professional category, around twenty candidates from all over the world will compete and propose their chocolatier to a jury composed among others of Stéphane Guénaud, silversmith at the Élysée, and Nasserdine Mendi, chocolatier and best worker in France, specifies La Noon dispatch.

This World Cup is organized on the sidelines of the “Vins & Terroirs” trade fair, at the initiative of Géraldine Laborde, co-founder of the event in 2019.
After a break linked to Covid-19, she wanted to put the know-how of artisans in chocolate making back in the spotlight.
Contenders for the title also came from "Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Kuwait, Vietnam, Canada, Italy, Congo, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, “Ivory or even Ghana,” says the organization on its social networks.

Should we say chocolatine or pain au chocolat?
The question that divides France
Beyond the “Juniors” competition, organized on Friday, two other categories exist: those of “Professionals”, but also for the first time that of the “Champions Trophy”, with three juries (professionals, press and public) which must agree to elect the most perfect chocolatine.
In 2019, it was Sébastien Lagrue, a baker in the Hautes-Pyrénées, who won the professional trophy.
It remains to be seen whether Occitanie will thus retain its title as the region of the best chocolatine, or whether other competitors will succeed in establishing themselves.
Answer this Sunday.
