An already particularly small breed of donkey and then a baby too - a baby mini donkey is currently melting the hearts of some Instagram users.
There are no ordinary donkeys living at the Double Donkey Ranch in Idaho, USA.
The special breed of mini donkeys lives here in a unique landscape.
On its homepage, the ranch advertises the special farm, alluding to the tiny residents, as “perhaps the only place where size doesn’t matter.” The Instagram community is particularly fond of the two-week-old miniature donkey offspring.
Baby mini donkey wants to grow up and finally get going
The ranch writes about the viral video, which has now received a whopping 5.3 million clicks and over 250,000 likes: “If you’re still too small for halter training, but you want to get started!”
Apparently the tiny tot needs to slowly get used to the halter - but he still seems to be too small for it.
The as yet nameless donkey foal waits patiently for the ranch employee's instructions and pushes in his direction in a familiar and loving manner.
The hashtag #bottlefed suggests that the baby donkey was raised with a bottle - this type of rearing would at least explain the trusting relationship between donkey and human.

Not just mini donkeys at the Double Donkey Ranch
According to the Double Donkey Ranch, there are “American and Mediterranean mini donkeys, Highland cattle, Longhorn cattle, horses, fancy chickens, upright peacocks, two Pyrenean mountain dogs and a completely useless mini Goldendoodle.” They are also dedicated to breeding so-called mini donkeys.

It was systematically bred to small size over several generations.
