For an authentic Sopa de Lima you need these ingredients:
2 liters of chicken broth
4 (700 g) chicken breast fillets
4 red onion
5 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
70g spring onions
1 green chili pepper
350 g vine tomatoes
7 organic limes
1 pinch of sugar
2 tbsp coriander leaves
100g tortilla chips

Thanks to these preparation instructions, the classic soup from Mexico with chicken and lime is easy to make:
Peel onions and garlic.
Cut onions into wedges or eighths.
Cut garlic cloves into fine slices.
Bring chicken broth to a boil along with chicken breast fillets, onions, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper and thyme.
Reduce heat and simmer covered for about 20 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
Remove the chicken breast fillets and tear them into pieces.
Clean and wash the spring onions.
Separate into green and white parts and cut separately into fine rings.
Finely chop the chili pepper.
Wash the tomatoes and cut them into quarters or eighths depending on their size.
Wash the limes, grate dry, halve and squeeze the juice from six limes.
Return the chicken to the pot along with the white part of the spring onions, the chili pepper, the tomatoes, the lime juice and a halved lime.
Simmer for another 15 minutes.
Season with sugar to taste.
Serve the soup with the green part of the spring onion, coriander leaves and tortilla chips.
Easy Tasty Tip:
It becomes even more aromatic if you replace the chicken breast fillets with chicken legs.
