Today's day of high water and overwork for the Mose system in Venice.
The mobile floodgates were activated already this morning due to a first tidal peak which reached 110 centimeters at sea.
With the barriers protecting the three port inlets, the water level in the internal lagoon, and therefore in the city, was around 85 centimetres, enough to wet only Piazza San Marco, one of the lowest points.
Bad weather will also rage in the next few hours.
In the evening the Mose will then rise again - informs the Municipality's tide center - coinciding with the forecast of a peak tide of 125 centimetres, around 11.15pm.
