The Civil Protection of the Campania Region, in consideration of the evaluations of the Functional Centre, has issued a Yellow level weather alert notice for rain and thunderstorms valid from 8pm today, Sunday 10 March, until 8pm tomorrow, Monday 11 March.
Intense rainfall is expected across the entire regional territory, including showers or thunderstorms.
Attention must be paid to the hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact of precipitation on the ground are possible flooding, increase in the hydrometric levels of watercourses, flow of water on road surfaces, runoff with transport of material, rock falls and landslides.
Municipalities are reminded to activate the Coc (Municipal Operations Centers) and to implement all measures aimed at preventing, combating and mitigating the expected phenomena, in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans.
Pay attention to communications from the Regional Operations Room.
Due to the saturation of the soil due to the rainfall that has already occurred and the hydrogeological fragility of some territories, landslides and rock falls are possible even in the absence of new rainfall.
