Six people, including two children, are missing in the Gard region of southern France after being overwhelmed by floodwaters, according to an update from the prefecture.
A father and his two children aged 4 and 13 were hit in Dions, north of Nîmes, around 11.30pm on Saturday, and two other people in Goudargues, in the north of the department, around 5am on Sunday, said Frédéric Loiseau , general secretary of the prefecture, in a press conference.
A motorist had already been reported missing on Saturday evening in Gagnières, also in the north of the department.
