An Air Force C-130 aircraft has landed at Ciampino military airport carrying civilians in need of healthcare from the Gaza Strip.
The flight - the third since the start of operations - was organized by the Farnesina Crisis Unit and the Joint Forces Summit Operational Command (COVI).
Today's operation, we read in a note, is part of the previous medical evacuations carried out under the impetus of the Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani and the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto.
Operations which, thanks to the deployment of the Navy ship "Vulcano" and Air Force vehicles, have so far allowed the transfer of 85 Palestinian civilians, hosted in Italian healthcare facilities together with their companions thanks to the action of the Ministries of the Interior and Health .
To the civilians evacuated today, mainly relatives of compatriots or Palestinians residing in Italy, were added, after a complex mediation operation, two injured volunteers from the Gaza Red Crescent, whom the Lazio Region offered to admit to local health facilities on request of the President of the Red Crescent.
A total of 45 people on board.
Since Saturday, the staff of the Farnesina Crisis Unit has followed the preparation and boarding operations of the humanitarian flight in Egypt.
Upon arrival at Ciampino, the President of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca and the Commander of Covi, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, were present.
