For me, beef roulades are a classic Sunday meal or a dish for special occasions.

This is not only due to the high-quality ingredients, but also to the long preparation time.

Tender beef roulades have to braise for at least 90 minutes until they practically fall apart in your mouth.

It's a shame that we often don't have the time for that.

In addition, the hearty food is more suitable for the cold season, with the powerful side dishes (dumplings and red cabbage).

But we don't want to miss out on the delicious taste even in summer and simply put our roulades on the grill.

Classically filled, but cooked in a modern way.

That's how it's done:

You need these ingredients:

  • Ingredients:

  • 4 beef roulades

  • pepper

  • Salt

  • 4 tbsp mustard

  • 175g bacon, sliced

  • 100 g pickles, sliced 

  • 100 g onions, sliced

  • Aside from that:

  • Grilled skewers

And this is how easy it is to prepare the grilled skewers:

  • Flatten the beef roulades and pat dry.

    Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  •  Spread the roulades with mustard.

    Top with bacon, pickles and onions and roll up.

  • Place two roulades next to each other and pierce them with three grill skewers.

    Divide the roulades into thirds so that there are two thick slices of roulades on each grill skewer.

  • Grill on the hot grill on all sides until the skewers are cooked through and the meat is well browned.

  • A BBQ dip goes well with it.

  • Clean up!
