Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) won the seventh and final stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico with a power sprint, while in the general classification the Danish Jonas Vingegaard prevailed without surprises, ahead of the Spaniard Juan Ayuso (+1'24") and to the Australian Jai Hindley (+1'52").

At the end of the 154 km section, with departure and arrival in San Benedetto del Tronto, the Friulian sprinter - already winner of the fourth stage in Giulianova - preceded the Norwegian Alexander Kristoff (Uno-X Mobility) and the other Italian Davide Cimolai ( Movistar Team).

Jasper Philipsen stopped at the foot of the podium.

The Belgian sprinter did not appear to be having one of his best days.

Fundamental in the success of Milan - which in next Saturday's Milan-Sanremo, in the event of a sprint finish, is thus a candidate for a leading role - the contribution of teammate Simone Consonni, to stem the action tried by Soren Wærenskjold on the straight the final.

This is Milan's third success of the season, thanks to which he has already equaled his tally from last year.

Not since 2006 and Paolo Bettini had an Italian won two group sprints at the Tirreno-Adriatico.

With the monster average of 47.1 km/h, today's stage was the fastest ever, beating the 45.9 of Cepagatti 2016, won by Greg Van Avermaet.

Vingegaard was already almost certain of making it the 'Race of the Two Seas', even before the start of this last stage.

The Dane started with a comfortable lead of one minute and 24 seconds over Ayuso after winning the most difficult fifth and sixth stages.

The captain of the Visma-Lease a bike team, who had been wearing the blue leader's jersey since Thursday, spent Sunday in the group.

After the success at the Gran Camino in Spain, he has already scored seven victories since the start of the 2024 season.
