Living their love out in the open, finally.

Wilhelm and Simon didn't think it was possible.

In the third and final season of the Swedish series “Young Royals”, which starts this Monday, March 11 (five parts available, the sixth and last will be on March 18), the teenage couple faces a new reality.

We left the crown prince, 16 years old, when he had just admitted to the general public that he was in a relationship with a boy.

A shattering liberating admission, certainly, but one that inevitably puts his relationship in the spotlight.

Not easy for the two heroes of this lovely fiction, especially since Wilhelm had not warned Simon of his declaration.

It is therefore in an ambiguous situation that these two are back on Netflix, torn between their love, stronger than ever, and the increasing number of difficulties they encounter now that they are no longer hiding.

Particularly within their high school, Hillerska, a private establishment reserved for a wealthy elite which only has rare scholarship holders from the working classes, of which Simon is a member.

The prince and the pauper

The reputation of the institution will be called into question during this third season, giving rise to a particularly powerful intrigue.

While most students continue to bask in their privilege, looking down on those outside their golden world, others begin to question themselves.

This is the time to open their eyes and question certain aspects of their traditions.

Wilhelm and Simon are also caught in this whirlwind which further highlights their difference in social background.

They also have to deal with personal problems.

The first with his parents, from whom he seems more and more disconnected.

The second with his sister to whom he no longer speaks and who is in complete depression after leaving Hillerska.

The issues of online harassment, mental health and family ties take up a lot of space in the first five episodes, which demonstrate great intensity and touching depth.

They are a real emotional roller coaster, perfectly accompanied by an apropos soundtrack.

To find out if Wilhelm and Simon will be entitled to a happy ending or not, we will have to wait a little more week.
