The mother of the abandoned baby found on February 1st in an entrance hall of a popular building on Via degli Apuli in Milan was identified by the Carabinieri.
She is a seventeen-year-old whose personal details are not disclosed to protect her privacy.
Together with her, a 19-year-old friend was identified and reported for child abandonment.
He told the soldiers at the San Cristoforo station that he had helped the minor give birth in the bathroom of a supermarket and, after cleaning so as not to leave obvious traces, that he had brought the newborn to the entrance of a building in the hope that he would be welcomed by people they trusted. .
However, the baby was picked up by a different family than expected and so, after 4 days, the young mother's friend went to claim the newborn and took him away.
It was February 1st, 5 days after her birth.
That same day they abandoned the little boy again in Via degli Apuli.
It was a tenant who raised the alarm when he opened the front door and saw the little boy and the white A4 sheet of paper with an inscription printed in Arabic which said that his mother had died and that whoever left him could no longer take care of him.
The child has been included in the adoption procedure and has already found a couple willing to take care of him.
The birth mother, who managed to keep the pregnancy hidden from her family, is now entrusted to social services and is following a course with a psychologist.
