Marco Marsilio (centre-right) won the regional elections in Abruzzo with 53.5%, defeating the broad candidate Luciano D'Amico (46.5%).

At list level, FdI is in the lead with 24.1%, while the PD is at 20.3%.

Furthermore,

in the centre-right Forza Italia (13.4%) leads the League (7.6%), while the 5 Star Movement - which supported D'Amico - is at 7.0%.

For the first time in the regional elections, in the

broad PD-M5S camp

there was also

an Action list, which took 4.0%.

The Reformists and Civics list, made up of Abruzzo Vivo (i.e. Italia Viva), PSI and Abruzzo in Comune, is the least voted in D'Amico's coalition: it stops at 2.8%.

In Abruzzo separate voting was not possible, but it was still possible to vote for a presidential candidate without also voting for a list.

We thus note that Marsilio has approximately 11 thousand more votes than his 6 lists, compared to the 22 thousand that D'Amico has more than his 6 lists.

In terms of comparison with the 2022 political elections, Marsilio obtained 29 thousand votes more than the centre-right, while D'Amico lost 7 thousand votes compared to the sum of the votes of the centre-left

,

M5S and Terzo Polo in 2022.

Furthermore,

Marsilio obtained 28 thousand votes more than five years ago, improving his result in much of the region, with some declines concentrated especially in the province of Teramo

.

D'Amico, however, lost 37 thousand votes compared to the sum of the votes of Legnini (centre-left) and Marcozzi (M5S) in the 2019 regional elections. Marsilio's victory was particularly evident in the province of L'Aquila, where he obtained an advantage of 23 percentage points over D'Amico.

In the coastal provinces the competition was more balanced, with a margin of +3 points in Chieti and Pescara, while D'Amico won in the province of Teramo with 50.2% against 49.8%.

As for the capitals, Marsilio won in L'Aquila (52.7%) and Chieti (50.9%), while D'Amico is ahead of Teramo (53.3%) and Pescara (52.3%) .

Adding these four municipalities, D'Amico slightly prevails in the capitals (50.7%), but Marsilio clearly wins in the non-capital municipalities (54.8%).

With the reconfirmation of Marsilio, the center-right now controls 13 regions and the province of Trento.

However, among the governors of the Brothers of Italy, we find only Marsilio and Acquaroli, together with Rocca, who despite being independent was indicated by the Brothers of Italy in Lazio.

As for D'Amico, this is the seventh defeat for the Democratic Party and the 5 Star Movement running together in the regional elections.

The wide field's only previous victory was in Sardinia two weeks ago.
