The Communications Regulatory Authority, in the session of 6 March, in the absence of Commissioner Elisa Giomi, imposed a fine of 1,350,000 euros on the Twitter International Unlimited Company, owner of the video sharing platform gambling, pursuant to article 9 of the so-called

dignity decree.

Agcom itself announces it.

In particular, the Authority found nine violations, one for each individual account marked with the 'blue check', relating to content having the nature of advertising communication of sites that carry out gaming and betting activities with cash winnings.

Agcom also found that only seven of the nine accounts were blocked directly by the platform during the proceeding and therefore issued an access inhibition order for the other two accounts.

Finally, the Authority adopted an inhibition order for all further illicit content uploaded, after notification of the notice of dispute, by the nine accounts.

The decision follows those already adopted, again in relation to offenses linked to the ban on gambling advertising committed online, as part of Agcom's enforcement activities (750,000 euros and 450,000 euros to YouTube, 2,250,000 euros to Google, 900,000 euros euros to TikTok, 5,580,000.00 euros and 750,000 euros to Meta).
