Highlights: Inter face Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday. Both Marko Arnautovic and Carlos Augusto will not be available for the match in Spain. Inzaghi can smile, because Acerbi, Calhanoglu and Thuram returned to the starting line-up at Dall'Ara after their respective injuries, as well as having managed to rest three big names like Pavard, Dimarco and Lautaro Martinez. Inter will therefore be able to present themselves in Madrid with their starting lineup, with the only ballot to date represented by the challenge between Darmian and Dumfries.

Inter prepares for the battle at the Wanda Metropolitano.

In fact, the return match of the round of 16 against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday promises to be a high-intensity clash: we start from the 1-0 in the first leg in favor of Simone Inzaghi's men, who arrive with the wind in their sails of a start of 2024 in which they have always won so far.

However, there are some problems for the Nerazzurri coach, especially regarding injuries.

Both Marko Arnautovic and Carlos Augusto, who were knocked out in Saturday's match against Bologna, will not be available for the match in Spain.

In fact, the instrumental tests highlighted a muscle strain in the femoral biceps of the right thigh for the Austrian attacker and a muscle elongation in the soleus of the right leg for the Brazilian winger.

In particular, the stoppage for Arnautovic should be around 20/30 days (with probable recovery for the match on 7 April against Udinese, while Carlos Augusto will miss the match against Atletico but could recover for Sunday's match against Naples or for the match against Empoli after the national break.

In the meantime, Inzaghi can smile, because against Bologna he had positive responses from Acerbi, Calhanoglu and Thuram, who returned to the starting line-up at Dall'Ara after their respective injuries, as well as having managed to rest three big names like Pavard, Dimarco and Lautaro Martinez.

Inter will therefore be able to present themselves in Madrid with their starting lineup, with the only ballot to date represented by the challenge between Darmian and Dumfries for a starting shirt on the right wing.

The program includes finishing tomorrow morning in Appiano Gentile, with departure to Spain to follow and the press conference of Inzaghi and a player at the stadium around 7pm.
